Version 1.0 (2021-02-22)

All of these are adapted from Theravada Buddhism, and intended to develop certain mental qualities.

6 am - Meditation on Loving-Kindness

My loved ones,

May you be well fed. If I find you hungry today, I shall feed you, for Jesus is in you.

May you be satiated. If I find you thirsty today, I shall give you something to drink, for Jesus is in you.

May you be sheltered. If I find you in need of shelter today, I shall invite you in, for Jesus is in you.

May you be clothed. If I find you naked today, I shall clothe you, for Jesus is in you.

May you have company in your sickness. If I find you sick and alone today, I shall look after you, for Jesus is in you.

May you have company in your imprisonment. If I find you imprisoned and alone today, I shall visit you, for Jesus is in you.

Those I'm indifferent towards,

My enemies,

12 pm - Meditation on the Qualities of a Saint

It instills joy and confidence in the practice.

Saint N.,

You love God ardently, and every human being because He is in them.

You act only to accomplish Good Works.

You react only with True Wisdom and abundant Virtue.

You have the Beatific Vision.

You despise the World and the Flesh.

You fight the demons, sin, and the occasions of sin.

You instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, admonish the sinners, forgive offenses, comfort the afflicted, and intercede for the living and the dead.

Your life and your words are fountains of Wisdom.

Your existence is a testament of the Grace of the Lord.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Before sleep - Meditation on Death

Instills consistency and manliness.

I shall die soon.
Every second, my lifespan decreases.
The time to act virtuously is small and decreasing.
I may die today or tomorrow.
I am fragile and easy to kill.
Terminal disease may appear at any moment.
And deadly events may take me even before that.
At the time of my death, only my good and evil works will matter.
None of them can be hidden from my Judge.
And if I haven't walked the narrow path, I will be condemned eternally.
If even one deadly sin remains without confession, and the World, the Flesh or the Devil remains the lord of my life instead of God, I shall never be admitted into Heaven.
